Sting was a surprise guest last night at the Sunday for Sammy event at Newcastle Utilita Arena when he took to the stage to perform Message in a Bottle. The hugely popular charity event returned to the city for the first time since the COVID epidemic with two sell out performances.

The Newcastle Chronicle reported: “Sting's appearance was one of many highlights of Sunday for Sammy 2026, with other memorable moments including the return of Brenda Blethyn as Vera, Auf Wiedersehen Pet legends Tim Healy and Christopher Fairbanks starring alongside Tim's youngest Louis in a sketch themed around the classic comedy, before Tim's other son Matty delighted with a set that included a surprise cover of The Las' There She Goes and the cameo from Someone You Loved singer Lewis (Capaldi).”
